The moment I opened the pouch, that unmistakable fresh, grassy aroma hit me—so different from the darker, oxidized teas I usually buy. It brews up a pale, almost golden cup that’s surprisingly delicate and complex, and I’ve already gone through half the bag in a week.
The first flush really does taste like spring in a cup—that fresh, grassy brightness you only get from the season's first sprouts. I brewed a pot this morning and the liquor is so light and delicate, almost sweet, with none of the bitterness I usually get from other teas.
The muscatel notes are exactly what I hoped for, and you can really taste the freshness of that first sprouting. I brewed it light at 185°F and it’s floral without being bitter; this is the first tea this season that feels genuinely special.
